This is my favorite story from general conference...
On Wednesday at their final rehearsal, the Aaronic Priesthood boys choir was told to get haircuts before Saturday. At least two of them forgot. (Well, there were others but they were smart enough to slick it back with lots of hairspray and who knows what else so that the choir leader wouldn't come after them.)
Luckily, Teri, the choir leader, had scissors in her purse so she took the two boys over to the garbage can in the corner and began snipping away. (Keep in mind that Teri does not have training in hair cutting but she isn't afraid to use scissors.)
The first young man had shaggy hair that was combed down straight and then began to curl up off his head. Teri took the scissors and cut all those curls off. When she was finished, it looked like someone had literally put a bowl over the poor kid's head and cut whatever hair was sticking out.
The second choir member has really tightly curled blonde hair. His was much easier to attack with the scissors. Teri took up the hair by the handfulls, cut it off about an inch above his head, and let the curls fall back into place.
I want to apologize right now to these boys' mothers who now have to fix the worst haircuts ever. But, at least their boys were presentable to sing to the world in general conference. It's all about a little sacrifice.
