Spring Explosion

I've been having one of those days where you want to laugh, cry, and scream all at the same time. But walking around Temple Square this afternoon made me feel so much better. Just look at how spring has exploded all around.

BEAUTIFUL!

WICKED

I absolutely love this play. It is such an amazing story with so much depth and valuable life lessons. And it was so fun to be there with the one that I love - even if our seats were horrible.

Lilacs

Look what my sweet husband surprised me with on Friday.

It's only the second time he has brought me flowers
and aren't they perfectly lovely?

Hawaiian Honeymoon: Kauai

Hello All! We're back from our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! But it's nice to be back to real life.

After spending two days on Oahu we flew over to Kauai for the last five days of our vacation. What an amazingly beautiful island! I just have one word of advice for all those headed to Kauai: The best way to see the island is to experience it through activities like snorkeling, boating, hiking, flying, etc. Unfortunately, the small plane ride we planned around the island was canceled due to HEAVY rains that day. Too bad but we still had a lot of fun!

Waimea Canyon

Kauai Coffee Plantation

Menehune Pond
the legend is that this was built by the Hawaiian leprechaun or menehune

A view from the Marriot Resort (not where we stayed-I wish)

Haena Beach - the end of the road

Sunrise from our hotel

Kapaa 2nd Ward

Spouting Horn

Kilauea Lighthouse - in the pouring rain
(this is what we did when our plane trip was canceled -- a beautiful substitute)

Wailua Falls - raindrops on the camera lens blurred the photo

Free Child Labor

I tried to put these cute kids to work last night. Their assignment was to move books out of boxes and on to the bookshelf. They lasted about 5 minutes.

After that they refused to work any longer, demanded dinner, and forced me to piece together a puzzle for them.

Oh, well. They really are so adorable, who could possibly refuse them.

Conference Recap

I am happy to report that this General Conference was just about the smoothest conference I have ever been through out of the 14 semi-annual events I have worked in the Conference Center.

A rousing round of applause to our wonderful Event Coordinator Missionaries, Guest Service Missionaries, and Event Services Staff. We all worked together to pull off a seamless 179th Annual General Conference.

Great Job Everyone!

Time Again

For General Conference!

Can you believe how quickly these last six busy months have passed and now its time once again for General Conference!

The 179th Annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begins today at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time. Throughout the next two days we will learn who has been newly called to be an apostle of the Lord. We will hear gospel messages and the testimonies of the prophets, seers, and revelators called in our day to lead the Lord's Church. It will be a magnificent day!

I must admit, however, that this year I am anxious for conference to finish because once it is over, we are that much closer to our wedding day. In fact, just 1 week from today Dave and I will enter the Salt Lake Temple, the House of the Lord, and there be sealed for time and all eternity. Conference is wonderful but next Saturday will be an even greater day for us. The best and most important day of our lives!
